PURPLISH-BACKED JAY
He's a cute, rather large jay is common in mainly dry deciduous forest of northwest Mexico usually in small groups.
The deep purplish-blue back, wings, and tail do not contrast strongly with black head and body and can look blackish overall at a distance.
